We have an exciting opportunity for a Locum Independent Reviewing Officer to join the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance team, focusing on Children in Need in Sefton, Merseyside.

Key Responsibilities:
- Chairing Reviews: Lead statutory reviews of children's care plans, ensuring legal compliance and that the child's needs are met.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor the care provided to children and young people, ensuring it aligns with safeguarding standards and best practices.
- Advocacy for Children: Ensure the child's voice is central to care planning and decision-making.
- Collaborative Working: Engage closely with social workers, carers, and other professionals to ensure seamless and effective care.
- Reporting & Recommendations: Prepare detailed reports, highlighting best practices and areas for improvement.
- Challenge & Improve: Confidently challenge decisions that may not be in the child's best interests and contribute to continuous improvement of services.
To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:
- BSc in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
- Social Work England Registration.
- Previous IRO experience
- Strong understanding of legal frameworks and statutory guidance within Children's Services.
